Week 13 and 14

We didn't think much would have happened since our windows were broken, but after going on Friday we were pleasantly surprised :)
Our secret unlocked window is now locked..... so we werent able to get inside:( lol
We could see through the windows and the architraves had been finished, all internals doors, closet doors and our kitchen caesar stone have been installed!  We are still waiting on a new front window and ensuite window and front door frame.  At least there has been progress!  We were advised by South East water that our sewer won’t be operational until end of April early May, so our house maybe sitting there for 3 or so weeks finished!  Not too happy about that!

Week 12

We went by the house on Saturday and to our surprise the front of the house had been rendered and the bathroom and kitchen cabinets had been installed.

We  were so excited to see it really look like a home and that our colour selections so far are what we want.

Not sure what is planned for this week, but I would think it would be install architraves, rectification to some plaster board - either not smooth or a hole in the hallway.
Below are the latest pictures...

Week 10 and 11

Since our last update a bit has happened and is starting to take real shape.

We now have plaster on the ceiling and walls and the joins have all been sanded.
I went by the site on Friday 27th and saw the guy’s busy working away putting up the plaster onto the ceilings.  We also went the following morning (Saturday) and they were already working on installing the walls and said they would finish on Monday, we couldn't believe how fast they were working.

Rod and I were looking over our plans and noticed there wasn’t a set of cutlery draws on our kitchen island.  We compared them to our tender plans and they had them, so somewhere between tender and contract they fell off.  I emailed our BC to see how this could be rectified.

I met with our new SS on Tuesday 31st January and he said he was already speaking with the carpenter and thankfully hadn't built the cabinets yet and was able to get the draws added to the plans :)

We also discussed what was next and of course I asked when handover may be.  He said I can't promise anything and wasn’t comfortable giving a date.  I asked if it was close to Easter, he asked when that was I said first week in April and he said yeah possibly around then or a week or so later.  I then mentioned we would like to use some annual leave with the public holidays to move in and he said yeah that would be great!

He also advised that the cornices would start to be installed on Wednesday 1st February- went by on Thursday almost finished and looked AMAZING!
